Phase 1 draft report
Consultation
The structure and operation of New Zealand’s electricity system will evolve over the coming decades with advances in consumer technology, an increase in renewable electricity generation and a reduction in our reliance on fossil-fuelled generation.
For Phase 1 of this project, we worked with Transpower and the sector on a draft report that identifies the opportunities and challenges to the future security and resilience of New Zealand’s power system. We commissioned an independent expert review of the draft report by Sapere Research Group.
From 16 November -14 December 2021, we consulted on the draft report seeking written submissions and feedback from industry via a number of interactive workshops.
Thanks to all those who provided input into this work. We considered all your feedback before moving to Phase 2 of this project on what activities would address the opportunities and challenges identified.
