Finance Business Partner - come help us build the finance future!

We work to make electricity more reliable, sustainable and affordable to all New Zealand consumers. We have a clear challenge to change the way in which the sector works with consumers, so this is the time to join the Authority to make your mark on the future of Electricity.

The Authority is changing the way we do things, so we are looking for an experienced finance professional who is passionate about partnering with the organisation to ensure we have the best finance function in town.

Reporting to the CFO, you will be driven by establishing great relationships across all business groups. We are a small organisation, so building great rapport is an easy task. Because of our size we are nimble and responsive and there is opportunity to introduce improvements and stamp your mark on the way we do things.

You will be forward looking, value added / solution focussed with a sound accounting foundation, have had exposure to public sector finance requirements but be interested in how these are applied differently in an Independent Crown Entity. You will respect process but be adaptable enough to respond to organisational needs as they arise and to accommodate a fast-changing sector and what this means for us as the regulator.

Most importantly you will bring:

  • CA Qualification or equivalent
  • experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, modelling techniques and providing advice
  • experience in roles requiring high levels of collaboration, communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to influence at all levels
  • strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • ability to quickly build trust, rapport and credibility with senior leaders

We offer a great flexible working environment, good career development and an opportunity to work with some intensely interesting people. Get in touch if you want more information, this might just be the role you are looking for to kick of 2020!

Board Secretary – Chief Executive’s Office

We work to make electricity more reliable, sustainable and affordable to all New Zealand consumers. We have a clear challenge to change the way in which the sector works with consumers, so this is the time to join the Authority to make your mark on the future of Electricity.

The Electricity Authority is looking for a driven, adaptable and organised individual to join the Chief Executive Office as Board Secretary.

This is a full-time role and would suit someone with exceptional administrative skills, who is methodical, process orientated and used to managing their own workload and prioritising work accordingly.

If you have a background as a Board Secretary working with Diligent, as a Senior Executive Assistant, or Legal secretary we would love to hear from you. These positions would be well suited to the tasks and day to day activities of this role but are not essential to the position, we want you if you are switched on, proactive and interested in working with us in a challenging, exciting and interesting role where every day can be different. Please note that the Board Secretary is not required to take minutes as part of this role.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive, Chair and Board with this role, so we are looking for someone who is relationship driven and is willing to go the extra mile. You will have strong communication skills and will work well as a team with our Executive Assistant team, and individually.

We offer excellent career development opportunities in an organisation that values its people, has great forward focussed leadership and is committed to you!
