Identifying ways for the uptake of new technology on distribution networks
Background on Open Networks project
17 Sep 2019
In early 2019 the independent Innovation and Participation Advisory Group (IPAG) provided advice on how to create equal access on electricity networks.
This means networks where anyone can connect and use any equipment they want to buy or sell electricity services – including solar, batteries.
The Authority welcomes IPAG’s advice and the Open Networks programme is part of our response to this advice.
A number of other projects included in the Authority’s committed work programme also contribute to the open networks framework and further promote competition, reliability and efficiency, including network support services (e.g. ACCES, DDA.)
