Commercial market making contract renewed

The Electricity Authority has renewed its contract with Bold Market Making NZ Ltd to provide commercial market making services.

The new arrangement commences on 1 July 2023 and runs through until 30 June 2024.

Bold Market Making NZ Ltd was selected by the Authority in July 2022, following a two-stage procurement process, to provide commercial market making services. It entered the market on 1 September 2022.

The NZ electricity futures market is hosted on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). This market is also supported by market making services provided by New Zealand’s four largest electricity generator-retailers: Contact Energy Limited, Genesis Energy Limited, Mercury NZ Limited and Meridian Energy Limited.
