Consultation open to resolve common quality issues in the Code

  • Code

The Electricity Authority is committed to ensuring New Zealand’s electricity future is secure, resilient and reliable.

We’re looking at this future from end to end. From the big picture stuff – like our work on the future operation of New Zealand’s power system, to the small details – like our new consultation pack that looks into common quality requirements in Part 8 of the Code.

Common quality requirements in the Code help ensure the safe and reliable supply of electricity to consumers. Our consultation pack explores five of the seven key issues we have identified with the common quality requirements in the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010.

Common quality requirements are a complex and technical area of the Code, but they have the ability to make a big impact on consumers, businesses and the electricity system.

We are seeking feedback on three consultation papers

We’re keen to hear from interested stakeholders on any or all of the three consultation papers we’ve put forward. A cover paper is provided to help submitters understand the full consultation.

Consultation is open for eight weeks until 5pm on Tuesday 20 August 2024.
