Registry Manager user’s course a success

The Electricity Authority and Registry Manager (Jade Software Corporation) held a Registry Manager course recently in Auckland, as part of the Authority’s industry education training programme.
The Registry Manager oversees the Electricity Registry, a national database of every point of connection on local and embedded networks to which a consumer or embedded generator is connected.
The course focused on the rules around switching processes and the Electricity Registry, which facilitates the exchange of information (between retailers, metering equipment providers and distributors) to manage reconciliation, invoicing and switching processes.
Twenty-five industry representatives from across the country attended. Interactive exercises meant attendees gained practical insights and solutions that could be applied to their work.
One attendee noted it was “a great opportunity for the attendees to network and build relationships with Jade, the Authority and other members of the industry. The course was comprehensive, and the interactive exercises allowed us to translate the Code requirements into processes and registry interactions. This included data verification and report writing”.
As a regulator, education is a key part of the Authority’s role. We have an industry education programme to build and advance the knowledge and skills of market participants and improve industry best practice.
We will run the Registry Manager course again in 2025 and will also consider running an advanced course. If this is of interest, please contact compliance@ea.govt.nz
