Watch our June update

  • Corporate

Thanks to everyone who joined our quarterly update covering our work to achieve a secure and resilient, accessible and efficient energy system.

Chief Executive, Sarah Gillies, opened with an overview of the Authority’s top priorities for the quarter and new fiscal year. She outlined the Authority’s intention to improve competition and efficiency, enable new technologies and promote innovation, to put downward pressure on prices and deliver better outcomes for consumers.

“You can expect to see some changes in capability, mixed with new ways of working to focus on the most pressing issues at hand. This is to deliver robust regulation and ensure it is implemented well.”

Sarah also thanked stakeholders for their continued engagement with the Authority, and their time and energy in contributing to the sector every day.

Staff from the Authority provided updates on:

  • our new investment pipeline dashboard
  • the position for security of supply for 2024
  • the Authority’s upcoming decisions and consultations.

Watch a recording of the update.

Our next update will be in October 2024. If there is a particular topic or speaker you would like, please let us know at info@ea.govt.nz.
