Consultation

We decided to make three discrete amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 to:

amend Part 8 to clarify use and availability of controllable load – effective 1 May 2024
amend Part 6A to include all generation technology – effective 1 June 2024
update and clarify the scope and effect of Part 6A obligations – effective 1 June 2024.

We would like to thank all submitters for their feedback on this consultation. We made changes to all of our proposals in response to submitters’ suggestions. Read our decision paper.

All three amendments mainly apply to distributors and, in the case of Part 8 amendments, the system operator. Retailers and generators which are connected to a distributor, and people involved in these businesses, also need to be aware of these amendments.

Note, we received one submission from a private individual on amendment number 1 (Amending part 6A to include all generation technology). The submission was about smart meters and is out of scope of this consultation.
