Part 8 common quality requirements
Consultation
The common quality requirements of Part 8 may disadvantage some evolving technologies over others, particularly inverter-based resources. As a result, this may undermine the ability to promote competition in, reliable supply by, and the efficient operation of the electricity industry.
This consultation sought feedback from interested parties on:
- the description of each identified issue in our issues paper and whether it is considered a high priority to address
- any other high priority common quality issues not identified in the issues paper that are occurring or that are expected to occur because of:
- the uptake of inverter-based resources, and
- how the Code enables different technologies.
Thanks to all those who made a submission. We will use your feedback and ongoing engagement to progress the challenges and opportunities affecting security and resilience of the power system in its low-emissions transition.
Also, we are aware that a review of common quality has, or is likely to have, linkages with other parts of the Code. We will carefully consider these linkages as part of this review.
