Levy-funded appropriations 2021/22 and 2022/23
Each year we consult on our levy-funded appropriations for the upcoming financial year.
Overview
We consulted on and asked for an increase of $2 million for 2021/22 to investigate the 9 August 2021 outage event, implement the trading conduct rules and continue our review of wholesale market competition. We sought a $1 million increase in 2021/22 and outyears to cover the increased costs associated with litigation currently underway and to ensure that we can respond to litigation effectively in the future.
We sought a permanent uplift to our baseline funding of $2 million for 2022/23 and outyears to enable us to continue to progress our statutory objective and deliver our statutory functions. The additional $2 million requested in the 2022/23 appropriation is required to cover costs related to increased resourcing to deliver multiple projects, organisational capability and IT services.
Our funding level for the financial year 2022/23 was announced on Budget Day 2022. You can read the confirmed levy rates in the Gazette notice below.
