The Policy statement plays a key role in the set of Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 provisions, contracts and other arrangements that collectively deliver common quality and orderly system operation. The Code requires the system operator to conduct a full review of the Policy statement at least once every two years

From 3 to 17 May 2022 we consulted on the proposed amendments to the Policy statement. On 26 July 2022 we decided to replace the system operator’s Policy statement in its entirety. We received two supportive submissions on the proposed changes and have finalised the amendment.

Policy statement 2022 - decision and summary of submissions

This decision paper explains the changes and our rationale for approving them. The replaced Policy statement will take effect on 1 August 2022. Replacement of the entire Policy statement is an option available when extensive amendments are made.
